Wenshan Yu is an award-winning London-based film music composer whose work spans orchestral writing, electronic sound, and hybrid scores. Currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, She has composed music for 20 short films. Her score for short animation If I Raised My Mother earned the film a sweep of honours at the Bournemouth International Film Festival, including Best Sound / Composer – Animation and Best UK Animation. Films she has scored have also been selected for the BAFTA-qualifying Thessaloniki Animation Festival (TAF) and the London International Animation Festival (LIAF). She has extensive experience conducting and recording with live session orchestras.

This is a recording session of a short piece The Little Red Horse.



Her string quartet piece inspired by Constable’s masterpiece, “The Hay Wain”, was performed in The National Gallery.
